Cheating in France | M6 | Zone Interdite
Fiscal fraud is estimated to add up to 45 billion euros in France – or 15% of its state budget. Black market work – and as a result, the unpaid contributions to URSAFF (body responsible for collecting social security payments) – represents a third of the social security deficit. As for insurance, 10% of accident declarations are falsified. Social security rip-offs, insurance fraud, pirating of video games, CDs and DVDs, black market work Out and out crooks or petty cheaters are more and more numerous. These cheaters get money completely illegally and often at the expense of the collectivity. Every day, we are paying the price of this cheating. The social security deficit? The increase of our insurance premiums? The price of cultural goods – CDs or DVDs. All the fault of fraud. The abuses are such that public and private organizations are reinforcing their control services: inspectors and controllers track down the cheaters who are then given over to the hands of the police and the justice department. Our journalists investigated these affairs which have been so long hidden from the knowledge of the public.
