In Peru, David sets out for Amazonia to collect a load of wood to feed his tiny family. However, on a dizzy, dilapidated track, he is overtaken by the climatic phenomenon known as El Nino”, which brings torrential rain, mudslides and danger. The jungle he is heading for is the world’s last intact garden of an incredible biodiversity. However, industry is looking for gas, polluting, and entire territories are being deforested by poor farmers. Before his very eyes the Amazonia he loves so much is turning into a Swiss cheese and he, himself, is being forced to participate in the massacre in order to survive. At the end of his road, the Masho Piro, the last remote indigenous tribe, are threatened with extinction. Every year 145,000 hectares¾14 times the surface of Paris¾are hacked from the Peruvian jungle! A journey into the depths of hell…”
