Aubagne Shooting: Inside the Online Cult of Mass Killers | M6 | 66 minutes

Monday, October 12, 9:20 a.m. Michael B., 14, dressed head to toe in black, storms into his school, the Collège Lakanal in Aubagne, a shotgun in hand.

The ninth-grader hits the principal in the back with several pellets and wounds a senior staff member in the leg. After roaming the hallways and floors, and firing a few shots into the ceiling of an occupied classroom, the teenager is subdued.

Investigators from France’s national anti-terrorism prosecutor’s office (PNAT) and domestic intelligence agency (DGSI) quickly discover that he is an active member of the True Crime Community, an online community fascinated by both serial killers and school shootings such as Columbine in the United States.

Through exclusive interviews with current and former members, this documentary investigates the disturbing True Crime Community, which is gaining ground in France and pushing aimless young people toward the unthinkable: American-style mass school shootings.
