GI: American hospital | TF1 | Sept à Huit

Four hours by air from Baghdad is the Landstuhl military hospital in the Frankfort suburbs. This is where the American soldiers wounded in Iraq are sent for immediate medical treatment. More than 9000 soldiers have been treated there, with 1200 amputations. A lot of the soldiers survive extremely serious explosions because their protective vests save their vital organs, but their extremities, legs or arms, unfortunately remain vulnerable. In this hospital, the doctors must treat the bodies but also the souls. A report by Bruno Evenou on the devastation of a dirty war.
