VACATION: THE BIG RETURN | M6 | 66 minutes

The French know it: the vacation is soon coming to an end. On Saturday and Sunday, August 18^th and 19^th, there will be millions on the road home, stuck end to end in traffic jams or in overcrowded service stations. They’re in for a miserable time! On roads throughout the country they’re predicting abnormal traffic, hours and hours of jams! And this year, in addition to the jams, there’s more bad news awaiting: they’ll be faced with the rocketing costs of fuel and highway tolls! Many will be caught in the trap, but that’s the price to pay for getting back home! However, other, crafty ones, will try to find alternative routes, the minor roads… Sometimes successfully, but not always! For the big return-home weekend, we set up our cameras in the Rhone valley, on the spot that will be the busiest in France! On the A7 Highway, but also along the mythic National 7, we shall be not only with the French on their way home, but also the those trying to organize this gigantic migration in the best possible way (gendarmes, hotel managers, garage owners and breakdown services…). They are all on a war footing !
