TOMORROW’S DOCTORS – Season 3 episodes 1 & 2 | Case documentaire | France 4

More than 14,000 students are studying medicine in France today. They choose their speciality in year six. 9 years of study (11 for some) are required to obtain your qualification. Medicine is more than a career: it’s a true vocation! For 2 years now, France 4 has been following the emotionally charged stories of several medical interns. In this third season, you again meet the characters from the previous seasons: David, Assistant Head of Clinic, Plastic and Reparatory Surgery department, Marseilles North Hospital; Paul, senior doctor, attaché practitioner in the Emergency Room of the Bichât-Claude Bernard Hospital. You also discover three new interns: Jean, first term intern in the Neurosurgery department of the Rennes University Hospital; Hayatte, eighth term intern, Reanimation department at the Avicenne Hospital in Bobigny and Emilie, seventh term intern in the Gynaecology and Obstetrics department of the Tours University Hospital. Throughout a totally new immersion of more than six months, in the emergency or reanimation departments, in the labour ward and the operating theatres, through moments of doubt, hope and joy, France 4 continues to reveal the world of doctors in season 3 of this reality documentary series. In the first season, Paul was quietly finishing his training as a generalist in emergency medicine. In the first two episodes he will have to learn how to manage the stress that goes with his new responsibilities as senior doctor in one of the biggest emergency departments in Paris. Alone, he will have to run a vital service for the first time in his career. In two years time, Emilie will finish her medical studies. Aged 29 she is already mother of a little girl. In order to qualify as Doctor in Gynaecology and Obstetrics she will have to sacrifice her family life. In the first two episodes, in order to gain the confidence of her seniors in the gynaecology theatre, Emilie will spare no efforts. An expenditure of energy that will finally put her own health at risk.
