The Bettina Beau Affair: did the secretary kill her boss? | Enquêtes criminelles | W9

It’s 10:35 pm on Monday, February 27 2012 when Stéphanie Gletty arrives at the police station to report the disappearance of her husband, the wealthy CEO of an SMB, specializing in aluminum construction products in the Saint Etienne area. Next day, Philippe Gletty’s vehicle is found 4 miles from his business premises, but there’s no sign of this married man with children. Suicide? A run away husband? For his wife and two daughters, as well as his close colleagues, this is not a credible theory because the man loved life so much and was planning a number of projects. It’s just that the victim’s cell phone and papers have disappeared… Who could have had it in for this CEO, who started from nothing, but achieved spectacular success? Investigators explore the possibility of a competitor. In vain… From witness statements the portrait emerges of a man who is leading a double life. At his company, Philippe Gletty is described by all his female colleagues” as both brilliant and unfaithful. From the cleaning lady to the accountant, by way of professional call girls, the businessman was “hooked on women”. From there, the gendarmes take an interest in a certain Bettina Beau. She was not only the victim’s Personal Assistant, but also one of his mistresses. Questioned on several occasions, the lovely Bettina, married and a mother, appears most anxious following the disappearance of the man she considers to be the perfect boss…”
