STREET HEROES | M6 | 66 minutes

Jean-Michel Gaudin is slowly learning how to live again in a rehabilitation centre in the Gers. His life was turned upside down one evening in 2017 around 6pm in the Place de la Bastille. This 52-year-old barman at the Assemblée Nationale decided to defend two young women who were harassed by three youths. He was beaten up. He’s no super hero, just an ordinary hero who acted out of pure citizenship without thinking for one moment that he might be risking his life. However, today, it’s all the family members around him who see their lives turned upside down. His wife and daughters also become everyday heroes through no action of their own. Like Jean-Michel Gaudin, many young men and women don’t hesitate to put themselves in danger to save their friends, or even perfect strangers, and then go on to create some incredible bonds. We also meet Edinho. This dropout, who lives in Villegailhenc in the Aude rushed to dive to the rescue of a stranded grandmother cut off by floods. He is now her spiritual son. Such is the case of Adel, a “gilet jaune”, who came to the defence of a policeman thrown to the ground and beaten. Today, he is looking for this officer, unidentifiable beneath his helmet. Adel always wanted to be a policeman, but his short stature shattered his dreams. He’s a jockey. However, his small size didn’t prevent him from helping that officer.
