Every summer, with its seven kilometres of fine sandy beaches, Palavas-les-flot sees its population rise from 5,000 residents to more than 90,000. Bars, restaurants, water sports and sporting activities of every kind—everything is arranged to satisfy the tourist. But when you say tourist influx, you also say more accidents: minor accidents on the beach without serious consequences, drownings and burglaries. Every summer, thefts from cars and burglaries soar. From the lifeguard to the gendarme patrol, we followed the professionals all through the season.
