ONCE UPON A TIME: THEIR GREATEST CASES – COMPILATION 1 & 3 | TF1 | Reportages

It’s a new way of relating major crime cases. In this series produced by “TF1 Grands Reportages”, some “great cops”¾legends of the criminal detective division¾tell us of the case that turned their lives upside down, the investigation that marked a turning point in their career. The one that still haunts their memory. In this edition, captains Martine Monteil, Charles Pellegrini, Pierre Richard, Christian Pèlegrin, Jean-Louis Huesca and Jean-Marc Block tell their stories. Charles Pellegrini and Pierre Richard, with their appearance of “contract killers from the 70-80s”, describe the hunt for the most famous and formidable gang of bank robbers of the late 20thcentury: the Lyon Gang. Marine Monteil, the first woman to head¾amongst others¾the “gang busters” (The Organized Crime Division) and the Crime Squad, from the famous “36 Quai des Orfèvres”, explains with gripping elegance how she came across the path of the first serial killer of her career. Christian Pèlegrin and Jean-Louis Huesca recall an investigation they carried out more than thirty years ago. The “fresh  bait” case: one of the most shocking criminal cases of the 80s and which Bernard Tavernier turned into a film of the same name ten years later. In 1982, Captain Jean-Marc Bloch, when catapulted to the head of the BRI (Anti-Crime Brigade) had to mobilize his entire division in an attempt to cut off the head of Action Directe, an extreme left-wing revolutionary group that committed many terrorists attacks.
