As much feared it, the murderer who decapitated a nurse and assassinated a nurse’s aide at the psychiatric hospital of Pau, on December 17, 2004, was a former patient of the hospital, Romain Dupuy.

Schizophrene as adolescent, he worried his entourage, as testify many people: his former girl friend, his neighbors, his teacher… Even his parents, who had asked for his internment and who were not heard.

Could these cruel crimes be avoided? This is the opinion of the victims families and even of a part of the personnel of the hospital.
