Episode 6 : Destination Brazil | M6 | Va voir ailleurs

Patrick, 34, stock breeder in the Bearn. Patrick is so close to his parents he can’t resist kissing them every morning. His mother prepares tasty dishes for him at noon and if everything isn’t ready on time, beware Patrick’s moods because he’s a busy man: almost single-handed he manages his 85 hectare holding on which he also grows cereals. Technology allows him to meet his daily challenge, for when Patrick is not swiping the tactile screen of his tractor he’s checking the growth statistics of his cows on his computer. In Brazil, in the heart of the Pantanal region, Patrick is going to travel back three centuries in time with Cristovao, the farmer who has neither electricity nor phone and even less a tractor. Patrick will work and learn the tools thanks to a horde of “Vaqueros”, Brazilian cowboys, who work the 14,000 hectares on horseback and are experts in the use of the lasso. He will drive a herd of 600 cattle over long distances, crossing rivers amidst crocodiles, piranhas, snakes and spiders. Will the man who has never been out of Europe feel the separation from his family and his girlfriend, but more importantly from his cows? Will the 21st century farmer, attached to his comforts and his time off, be able to turn into a real cowboy, Brazilian style?
