The bravest drivers in Cameroon have a name: Clandos”, for clandestines or illegals. They are illegal taxi drivers and the only people who will drive over the whole Cameroon road network, one of the worst on the African continent. A mere 2% of the roads are asphalted. All Cameroonians use the services of these “Clandos” because they have no other choice. The country hasn’t developed the railways and air connections are too expensive and too dangerous.”
