Asterix Park: behind the scenes in the most Gaulish of theme parks | Emission spéciale | TMC

25 years ago, who would have thought that the world of the little Gaul, who still resists and will always resist the invader, would attract more than 1.7 million visitors a year? What is the magic potion than makes the Asterix Park today’s 2nd most visited theme park? That is what we shall discover as we go backstage at the Park and reveal all its secrets. After a 5-month break, the staff of the Asterix Park are faced with a major challenge: as the Park does not open its doors until the spring each year, the attractions must be overhauled and made ready for operation again. Some attractions are even rebuilt completely and new ones are fine tuned. This year is a special one because Dogmatix, Obelix’s famous little dog, is celebrating its 50th birthday! It’s a major event for the Gaul’s village. In the workshops, the craftsmen, painters, decorators and boilermakers are working flat out to finish the set of the brand-new arena where the star attraction show of 2015 will take place with a battle between Gauls and Romans featuring Dogmatix as the guest star. Along with the people who operate the Park, we take a look behind the scenes, at the things the visitors don’t see. Rehearsals for the fights between Gauls and Romans, making the costumes, preparing the new attractions, assembling the rides as well as training sessions for the dolphins… from the days that lead up to the opening to the first heavily-attended weekends, we reveal the recipe for the magic potion of the most Gaulish of theme parks…
