Las Vegas, the city of gambling, alcohol and sex. Forty million visitors a year come to be entertained, one way or another, to this oasis of pleasures in the middle of the Nevada desert. The city, with its thirty “gentlemen’s clubs” is now the striptease capital of America. Girls flock here from around the world, hoping to make in one month what they would otherwise take a year to earn. Today, there are no less than 15,000 strippers in Las Vegas! For many, however, striptease is just one short step away from prostitution.Despite being, officially anyway, against the law in Las Vegas, prostitution is everywhere. Throughout the city billboards advertise girls that can be ‘in your room within 20 minutes’. To bypass the law, call-girls agencies take advantage of the US constitution that guarantees freedom of ‘artistic expression’. Nevada is the only state in the USA that has authorised prostitution in certain counties and only in licensed brothels. ‘Sheri’s Ranch’ is one of thirty brothels in the vicinity of Las Vegas. 25 girls work there fulltime in classy surroundings. The brothel is run on strictly business lines and turns a handsome profit. As does the entire sex business. The documentary lifts the veil on how the business functions and features frank interviews with a call-girl who allows herself to be filmed openly and with Annie, an escort girl turned born again Christian who tells all about the 11 years she spent working the Vegas casinos.
